Josh McFolley

Josh McFolley and his team at Western International H.S. won the 2015 DPSL basketball championship. McFolley was well aware of the magnitude through his relatives (Sammy Gee, Benny White and Lorenzo Neely) who were all DPSL champs before him.

THE LEGEND SAMMY GEE

The late great Sammy Gee is the grand daddy of Western International player Josh McFolley. Gee was a jr. playing for Miller H.S. in this game at Brewster in 1946. His team won the 1947 DPSL championship. Sammy was coached by the late great Will Robinson.

Last season Josh McFolley played his jr. year for Jermaine Jackson (over shoulder) at Mt. Clemens H.S.

Sammy Gee

Sammy Gee

Sammy Gee led Miller H.S. to a victory over Northern H.S. 52-21 to capture the 1947 DPSL championship. The game was played at the State Fair Coliseum with 8,000 in attendance.

Lorenzo Neely

Lorenzo Neely

Wayne State asst. coach Lorenzo Neely (seated 2nd form right in sport jacket) is also related to Josh McFolley and Sammy Gee. Neely won a DPSL championship in 1986 at Northern H.S.

Benny White

Benny White

Benny White is an asst. coach at Eastern Michigan Univ. He is a cousin to Josh McFolley. White won his DPSL title in 1999 as head coach at ML King H.S.

Benny White was head coach at ML King H.S. from 1995-2010. His team won the DPSL crown in 1999.
