Lady Crusaders defeat Cass Tech. for DPSL Crown

The Technicians had a 2pt lead at halftime. In the 3rd qtr. ML King's Jenae Williams (22pts) lead her team on an 18-5 run. The savy veteran showcased her all around game by scoring and creating for teammates. Cass Tech. never recovered from that punch, and the game finished at 66-53.
Leah Mathis (12pts) took contol of the boards (12rebs) for the Lady Crusaders. Mathis got help from teammate Malayasia McHenry to keep CT's Rose Fall (10pts) in check. Soph. Alicia Norman added 13pts. for the black and gold.
K'lynn Willis (22pts) was a bright spot for the Lady Technicians. She made difficult shots including five 3-pointers.
The day belonged to Jenae Williams who also recieved the Miss DPSL Basketball award. She said winning her fourth DPSL championship with her King teammates was the best prize.
The ML King girls (18-0) remain undefeated. Another DPSL crown for head coach William Winfield. They could meet Cass Tech. (14-4) again in the state distrct playoffs. Another chance for CT head coach Marissa Fisher and her team to get "The Big Payback".
